Introducing our exquisite hand-dyed Polwarth+Silk Spinning Fibre, a true gem for fibre artists and spinning enthusiasts alike. Crafted with meticulous care and passion, this luxurious blend combines the finest Polwarth wool and lustrous silk to create a spinning experience that is truly exceptional.
Polwarth wool, known for its softness and elasticity, forms the foundation of this spinning fibre. This wool is sumptuously soft against the skin, making it ideal for creating garments and accessories that are both cozy and elegant. The silk also enhances the drape and strength of the spun yarn, allowing it to flow effortlessly and beautifully through your fingers as you spin.
Polwarth wool is renowned for its exceptional softness, rivaling the luxurious feel of Merino wool, boasting a fine fiber diameter ranging from 22 to 25 microns. Developed in 19th-century Australia, the Polwarth breed is a cross between 75% Merino and 25% Lincoln sheep, combining the best qualities of both breeds. Notably, the Polwarth wool exhibits a longer staple length compared to Merino, owing to the influence of Lincoln DNA, resulting in an impressive staple length of 4 to 51/2 inches. This unique combination of softness and length makes Polwarth wool a prized choice for a variety of yarn and crafting projects.

Tara –
I spun up a braid of the summer dusk color way. It is squishy and it drafted so easily. The colors are vibrant and beautiful.

Easily one of my favorite blends; soft and strong with a satin-like lustre.
I tend to spin very thin and it holds up beautifully.
